Hunting for a Head Chef
Unity Pies is a small venture with a big vision. We are delighted to be able to expand our team to help us grow- we are hiring a Head Chef.
For those of you who have followed our story, you will know Unity Pies started in lock-down. When our hospitality businesses were forced to close due to the pandemic, our trainees came up with an idea to make a product for people to eat at home or as a take-away. The Unity Pies project was born.
What makes Unity Pies special is that they are hand-made by chefs with a learning disability.
Unity Works
Unity Pies is part of Unity Works, a charitable organisation supporting adults with a learning disability to access training and employment opportunities. Unity Works runs a range of social enterprises as vehicle to support their mission.
Expansion on the horizon
As Unity Pies grows we are setting up a production kitchen and we're looking for a Head Chef to be a key part of a small team to scale up this new business. This role will be based in a production kitchen working with a team of Unity Works trainee chefs who are adults with learning disabilities. This would suit a chef looking to leave late shifts and week-end working behind.
